The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for 2025-26 has come up with a centralized space for students across India to apply for various scholarships provided by central and state governments. The scholarship offers multiple schemes covering Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, Merit-cum-means (MCM), Top Class Education, and scholarships for persons with disabilities.

KEY GUIDELINES:

  • Scholarships are for students from Class 1 through PhD across various streams.
  • Candidates can apply online via NSP portal: scholarships.gov.in .
  • For direct benefit transfer (DBT), it is mandatory top link bank account with aadhaar.
  • Depending on the schemes, the scholarship will cover tuition fees, maintenance allowances, book grants, hostel charges, and equipment costs.
  • The application must be verified by the instituitions and other authorities as a part of application process.
  • Schemes target various categories including SC, ST, OBC, minorities, EWS, and students with disabilities.

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY:

  • Nationality- Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
  • Education- Must be studying in a recognized institution.
  • Income Limit- Family Annual Income should generally not exceed INR 2.5 lakh (Varies by scheme).
  • Applicants must have passed the last qualifying exam with a minimum of generally 50% marks (varies by scheme).
  • Must have valid and applicable certificates ( Aadhar card, Caste and income certificate).

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Application starts on 2nd June, 2025.
  • Last date to apply is 31st October, 2025.
  • Document and verification deadlines are usually mid-November, 2025.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:

  • Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar enrolment ID.
  • Bank Passbook Copy (showing account number and name).
  • Educational documents (Marksheets and certificates of the last qualifying examination).
  • Income certificate (as specified in the respective scholarship guidelines).
  • Caste certificate (if applicable).
  • Domicile certificate (If applicable or mentioned by the scholarship).
  • Bonafide Student Certificate from the school/institute (if studying outside the domicile state).
  • Passport size photograph.
